National Volunteer Week
April 19-25, 2020
“It’s time to applaud this country’s volunteers!”
The theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week strives to capture the commitment, dedication, and selflessness of volunteers across Canada, who tirelessly contribute their time and energy to their communities, cities, and country.
At The Teapot, nearly 100 volunteers help bring our programs and activities to life—without them, our centre would not survive. From reception, to the kitchen, in grocery stores and doctor’s offices across Montreal, our volunteers go above and beyond to help The Teapot achieve our mission.
This National Volunteer Week, take the time to thank a volunteer for their efforts. On behalf of Teapot staff, members, and service participants, we would like to applaud our volunteers for everything they do. Thank you!
Becoming a volunteer
Whether you are a first-time volunteer or a life-long volunteer looking for a new opportunity, The Teapot welcomes anyone who is interested in donating some time and energy to our centre. From weekly shifts to occasional work, there are opportunities that fit every schedule and lifestyle.
While community organizations like The Teapot thrive with the help of our volunteers, volunteerism can also have a positive impact on your life: Studies have shown that volunteers report fewer health problems, greater levels of happiness, and a longer life expectancy than those who never volunteer.
If you are interested in learning more about volunteering at The Teapot or elsewhere in the community, please see Theresa, The Teapot’s Volunteer Support Coordinator, in the office.
